Accommodation and Meals

Accommodation for our volunteer is provided at the volunteer house.

The volunteer House provides shared room accommodation. The rooms are shared between two to maximum 6 volunteers.

Couple can request private rooms, but this is subject to availability.

Volunteers are provided with three (3) Home cooked Meals a day for the duration of the programme.

Volunteers are provided with an opportunity to taste some local cuisines.

Activities

During the week-ends and public holidays, volunteers have an opportunity to do the following activities:

  • An arranged tour to Livingstone town located in the Southern of Zambia, the home of the famous natural water falls, the “MIGHTY VICTORIA FALLS”, one of the seven wonders of the world. This is highly recommended and memorable activity.
  • Pre arranged tours to places like the Kafue, Luangwa or Chobe National park.
  • Visit animal sanctuaries like Chimfunshi (animal sanctuary for baboons)
  • Gardens like Nsobe (a beautiful resort where you can see a few wild animals like monkeys, impalas, zebras etc)
  • Local markets and Curio shops.

FAQs

What are the requirements to Volunteer with Projects Impact?

In order to participate in our projects, volunteers must be 18 years and over unless they are volunteering with a parent or guarding. Adults of all age are encouraged to participate in our Volunteer projects, however a certain level of fitness is required as some lifting may be needed in some projects.

All Volunteers need to provide a criminal background check at the time of arrival at the project destination.

It is mandatory that all Volunteers have adequate travel insurance to cover medical emergencies and other contingencies such as lost baggage.

What is not included in the Volunteer project fees?

Flights and Visa: - It is your responsibility when travelling to ensure that you have a valid passport and visas which meet the requirements of the immigration authorities. Please let us know if you need information regarding Visas before you travel.

Do I get time off from Project work to do other things?

Volunteers get time off from project work over the weekend. They are free to organise their own activities which may include tours to places of interest or visits to local curio markets. We are happy to recommend some trips and tours you can take in your spare time.
