What are we

Projects Impact Zambia is a Non-Government Organisation (NGO) established to pursue charitable causes among the least privileged people in the Zambia society.

The organisation is based in the Zambian town of Kitwe on the Copperbelt province. It currently has affiliations with other Charitable Organisations based both in Kitwe and Livingstone.

Projects Impact Zambia aims to eventually have its operations cover most parts of Zambia. We run short term programmes and Volunteers can choose to participate in any of our projects for a period of  I week to 12 weeks.

To Inspire confidence and respect in the lives of underprivileged people in society by implementing sustainable projects aimed at uplifting their lives.

Mission

• To strengthen the capacities of individual communities to reduce poverty levels by implementing projects with measurable outcomes.
• Enhancing Education outcomes of students from disadvantaged background to relieve poverty in the local communities.
• Provide life skills training to young people from poor backgrounds.
• Advancing Health in communities by implementing programmes aimed at improving nutrition outcomes and providing education to young people regarding sexual health and risks of, protecting from and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases.
• Promote Social awareness of major environmental issues and the roles that individuals and communities can play for a sustainable planet.

We are non-governmental organisation that has been set up to work with people from vulnerable backgrounds in Kitwe and surrounding towns in the Copperbelt Province of Zambia. Just as much as we have identified extreme poverty levels in villages in the outskirts of the major cities, we also acknowledged the high poverty levels in inner city areas. It is with this in mind that our projects are aimed to cover most of these desperate areas in towns.

The Founders of this organisation have had experience working in the Education, Care and Agricultural sectors in various countries here in Africa. They have also spent many years working in these areas in New Zealand and Australia. Over the years they have hosted various people from abroad wanting to contribute by way of volunteering their time on various projects in Zambia. They have also worked with other people who have contributed by way of making financial contributions to a specific cause like painting a block of classrooms, improving sanitation or providing school supplies.

Among many other things, Projects Impact Zambia provides an opportunity for you to experience a different way of life in Africa while also making a lasting contribution and impact in people’s lives through the volunteer experience.

Projects Impact Zambia is currently working on plans for long term projects to make the organisation a lot more self-sustaining. One of the long-term plans is the construction of a Community Hub. This will accommodate various activities like Agricultural skill training, conference rooms to host educational seminars, meetings and counselling programmes. The community hub will also be able to host social and recreational activities to raise money that can be ploughed back into the organisation’s charitable activities. This is a long-term projects and Volunteers will be able to participate at different stages of development.
